Summary:
The Outreach Support Services Advocate at Clayton County Association Against Family Violence, Inc.
aka Securus House is responsible for providing advocacy, support, and resources to survivors of domestic violence in the community.
This position plays a vital role in extending the shelter's services beyond its physical location to reach individuals who may not be able to access residential services.
The advocate works collaboratively with community partners, law enforcement, and other service providers to ensure survivors receive comprehensive support and assistance.
Must possess a satisfactory work and criminal background history.
Must have a valid Georgia driver's license; this position requires local travel and the ability to work a flexible schedule including some weekends and holidays.
Must be able to safely operate a passenger van and have a satisfactory driving history.
Collaborate with agency Residential Program Case Manager and Teen & Youth Advocate on continuation of services post shelter discharge.
Qualifications:
Experience working with survivors of domestic violence or related trauma preferred.
Knowledge of domestic violence dynamics, trauma-informed care principles, and crisis intervention techniques.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with diverse populations, including individuals from different cultural, socioeconomic, and linguistic backgrounds.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively advocate for clients and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical boundaries in all interactions with clients and stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with electronic client databases preferred.
Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel within the community as needed.
Responsibilities:
Conduct outreach activities to raise awareness about domestic violence, available resources, and services offered by the shelter.
Provide crisis intervention, emotional support, and safety planning to survivors of domestic violence through hotline support, in-person meetings, and virtual platforms.
Conduct comprehensive needs assessments and develop individualized service plans for survivors, connecting them with appropriate resources and referrals based on their unique circumstances.
Accompany survivors to court hearings, medical appointments, social service agencies, and other appointments as needed, providing advocacy and support throughout the process.
Collaborate with community agencies, law enforcement, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to coordinate services and ensure a coordinated response to domestic violence and establish partnerships.
Maintain accurate and confidential client records, documenting all client interactions, services provided, and progress toward goals in accordance with agency protocols and legal requirements.
Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to domestic violence advocacy and trauma-informed care.
Assist with crisis line coverage as needed, providing support to residential clients and ensuring continuity of services.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
